I treated myself today with a tall decaf mocha with whip! Oh my gosh that tasted so good. I almost fell down when I took the first sip. A man walking by saw the smile on my face and he said, “now that is a smile of pure satisfaction!” and I said, “this is the best damn mocha I have ever had.”
Apart from my knees buckling while I ingest whole milk for the first time in weeks I was talking to a woman that used to work at the coffee shop who stopped by there on her way home. She mentioned that she lives 3 months out of the year in the back country just exploring. She works 9 months out of the year split between the coffee shop and home art projects and then for 3 months she’s completely separated from the city, internet, phone just exploring the countryside.
I think that is just amazing, getting back in touch with the land, getting a new perspective on life and a new appreciation for nature. Or renewing your own appreciation for nature. Could you imagine 3 months without hearing your cell phone? Or answering 400 emails in a day. I’d love it. Probably not for 3 months but it would be nice to hear the forest, wake up early before everyone and just sit outside, breathe. Relax. No hustle and bustle.
I never used to just strike up a conversation with someone out of the blue but overheard what she was talking about and wanted to learn more. I’ve noticed that my attitude has changed while I embark on this Incredible Jane journey. I’m more confident, happy and excited. It’s really nice to have the regular routine broken up with more fun in between it.
