It was so amazing to spend some quality time with my twin brother.  He’s been in swimming for years but I’ve never really sat down and talked with him about it.

I’ve cheered him on, congratulated him for winning events but we’ve never talked about technique and swim times, basic training.  It was so much fun to see him with the whole Special Olympics team at their first practice of the season.  Watching him mingle with the crowd, laughing and having fun.  He has so many friends.  It was really heartwarming to see him and watch him and support him even in practice.

Something that I haven’t made the time for, and so glad I have now.  When I first saw him swim I jumped out of my seat and yelled, “YOU ARE FAST!!! GO SCOTTY GO!!!!”  His technique was AMAZING!  He was swimming in the fast lane, there were only 4 people on the team swimming in the fast lane and my brother was one of them!  SO PROUD AND INSPIRED!  I was giving him thumbs up when it looked like he was hurting on the kick board portion of the drills and he kicked it up a notch.  I was so impressed, I was floored.  It was almost like a competition, I was the only one in the stands jumping up and yelling his name.

After we got some breakfast and talked about going swimming together.  I can’t wait, it’s going to be amazing just hanging out with him and having something in common to bring us closer together!

Everyone come and cheer him on at his next race!
